  PARALITOMASTIX VARIICORNIS
Latin name: PARALITOMASTIX VARIICORNIS
Order: Hymenoptera
Family: Hencirtidae
Parasitized kinds: Larvas of Anarsia lineatella

 Morphology and biology:
The Paralitomastix variicornis is a small gregarious endo-parasitoid Hymenoptera. The females depose the eggs inside the body of the larvas of the host; generally only one egg, characterized by the phenomenon of the poly-embryogenesis, for which, well soon, the larva of the host fill up with the small larvas born of the only egg. The parasitized larva is swollen and turgid, assuming a dark coloration. The parasitoid completes some generations a year, it spends the winter generally inside the host and it is active especially in full summer.
